When There Is A Cure

I have become a well known advocate in the diabetes community. I recently received a letter from a child with Type 1 diabetes thanking me for my efforts in raising awareness and in funding research to find a cure. He wrote a note that I would like to share with you:

When there,s a cure, I will live a day without the clock. I will wrestle with my brother without worrying about where my infusion is. I will be able to walk out of the house without a bag of supplies. Don,t believe the commercials-finger pricks DO HURT. But when I,m cured I will watch the thousands of holes slowly heal. When there,s a cure I will be able to help my dad on the farm without worrying about going low. I will also be able to eat ice cream on a hot summer day without worrying about my level. When there is a cure, I will wake up with the morning sun with a BIG SMILE on my face. All because the night before I wasn,t too high, my mom didn,t wake me up to give me juice because I was low, and my pump wasn,t poking my belly. And I will stand proud knowing that I, along with you, helped make history. Thank You.
