The Budget

We need to work back to a balanced budget, which helps the economy, helps keep interest rates down, and reflects our area's financial values.

Defense

We are spending over $10 billion a month in Iraq while our economy suffers here at home.  Our military deserves to come home as heroes, because that is what they are. They have accomplished their mission and done their duty.  We must redeploy our troops from Iraq, rebuild our military and restore our international credibility.

Environment

We must continue to clean-up abandoned mine drainage and sewage, support park and recreational opportunities like rail-to-trails, and protect our National Parks.  We must also accelerate the development of carbon capture and storage programs, which will expand the usage of clean-coal while reducing our carbon emissions.

Veterans

We must keep our promise to our veterans.  This includes expanding benefits, improving health-care access and treatment and finding them jobs within their local communities.
